This paper discusses some of the challenges posed by allowing an outsourcer to take over your IT infrastructure. We will see that whatever the form – cloud, outsourcing or managed services – the challenge of managing risks and security in a heterogeneous environment remains the same. This challenge is often a show stopper, but a few good habits and timely requirements on the part of the outsourcer can help significantly.
