Beyond the stadiums and spectacle of the games (we got to support Team Japan in the swimming event at the Paris La Defense Arena), we took the opportunity to visit the Orange Village, our hospitality suite where we showcased our involvement at the Olympic Games and our Customer Innovation Centre (CIC) showcase, a space for experimentation and collaboration with a co-innovation approach.
Our guests got two distinctive impressions from their time in Paris. The first was the extremely thoughtful hospitality and perfect welcome treatment offered by our hosts at the Orange Village and the CIC, which overjoyed and thrilled our guests. The local team went out of their way to make our guests feel at home and gave them a demo of our capabilities, including our Spatial UX internal expertise that enables enterprises to create interactive digital experiences using advanced input methods. Through the Apple Vision Pro headset, the team brought the map of Paris to life through the visionOS to immerse our guests into experiences virtually at the Eiffel Tower area, other animated 3D assets with corresponding spatial audio sounds and the Parisian crowd soundscape, in addition to several dedicated spatial computing experiences.
Secondly, our Japanese partners were really amazed by our Evolution Platform and IoT offerings’ demonstrations. They were excited to hear that Evolution Platform is already available and in use for actual case studies, and they commented that some vendors may also have similar technologies but have not yet deployed them in many real-life applications. They were able to test the platform live as it’s already up and running, hence we showed them how composable network-related services consumed with a cloud-native experience provides differentiating network security and performance, fast innovation with our partners, and the transformed ways of collaboration within teams. The demonstration highlighted multiple clear benefits, including the quick setup of cloud networking, the reduced time in making network changes, the secure connectivity and access to real-time data and applications for users anywhere and performant data/AI management for efficiency.
Moving on to IoT, we saw how it aids computer vision and quality control through two cases that showcased the Orange Business capabilities around OT/IT integration.
The first was an imaging process that can help detect impurities in bottles on a production line for cosmetic industry products.
The second and most recent use case involved a smart industry display of a fully digitalized, high-performance coffee factory production where data can be turned into smart, actionable intelligence to transform production lines. As the coffee machine runs an industrial process for grinding beans, distributing empty capsules, filling, tamping, and sealing coffee pods, it encompasses several control and packaging mechanisms and devices. Our solutions are offered in the hardware and software aspects, namely:
- Condition monitoring where data collected in our gateway is sent via our centralized IoT platform Live Objects/AWS or the IT/OT gateway (eWON)
- Industrial supervision for real-time production monitoring and machine interaction to monitor the status of machine and produce performance data for improving productivity and operational efficiency
- Thermal imaging quality control through a camera with computer vision and AI for detecting irregularities to reduce product defect costs
- ESG performance on energy consumption analysis of production lines and carbon footprint calculation to support sustainable development
- OT cybersecurity with quick identification of necessary actions to secure critical systems and cyberattack prevention for a fluid continuity of production through our comprehensive suite of network and cybersecurity modules
The entire Olympics Paris visit was an impactful and eye-opening tour for our partners, and it showed how Orange Business can transform and optimize customers’ businesses through the digitalization of assets, processes and workforce, which results in efficient production and maintenance and improved end-product quality. I’m confident that the proof points illustrating our solutions, our partnerships at the CIC and the latest technologies for factories and plants will go a long way to fueling interest from our B2B customers in learning more about the value of our solutions for their businesses and industries.
