As part of the MEF Board, I will be responsible for accelerating the adoption of MEF 3.0 services that provide the dynamic performance and security essential for enterprises to succeed in the digital economy. MEF 3.0 is a Transformational Global Services Framework for defining, delivering and certifying assured communications services orchestrated across a global ecosystem of automated networks.
MEF’s ground-breaking work in standardizing the SD-WAN service is addressing one of the biggest challenges to SD-WAN service market growth: the lack of an industry standard service definition. Together, our work will help to accelerate the take-up of SD-WAN products and services, which for us, is already on an upward curve.
The Orange Business march in the SD-WAN market has been noted by analysts and customers alike. Only recently, we were recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Communication Service Provider SD-WAN Managed Services 2018 Vendor Assessment. This comes on the back of the recent launch of our Flexible SD-WAN offering, which is already being deployed just in the past year by major customers, including Sony, Aurecon, Majid Al Futtaim Retail and Weener Plastics.
We were also highlighted in Avasant’s SD-WAN Managed Services RadarView 2019 as a leader in SD-WAN Managed Services for Flexible SD-WAN. The RadarView report assesses providers across three critical areas: practice maturity, partnership ecosystem and investment and innovation.
Nearly 20% of the Global 2000 companies have already adopted some form of SD-WAN technology. Within the next 36 months, enterprise SD-WAN adoption is likely to double, according to Avasant’s research.
The proof of an SD-WAN growth momentum is in our recent stand-out deals. Orange Business was chosen by Sony Group to consolidate and transform the communication infrastructure of two of its largest operating companies. Built on Orange Flexible SD-WAN, the new Sony network will connect more than 500 locations in over 50 countries across five continents to deliver improved performance, security and scalability to its operations. Orange Flexible SD-WAN will enable Sony to share IT talent and have complete end-to-end visibility for improved global service agility.
I am proud that Flexible SD-WAN is now the Orange Business flagship solution in this arena and that it has fast developed a global footprint. And I am equally proud that our industry ecosystem recognizes our growth and strength in this space as well.
Please join me at MEF 2019 in Los Angeles, November 18th to 22nd, where I will have the pleasure of delivering an executive presentation on November 19th. For more details about the event, see the MEF 2019 website.
