We’ve recently announced two new major contracts with multinationals in the region. For supermarket giant Carrefour we are linking 27 hypermarkets and 3 company sites in the region, with an Adaptive Network. It’s a fully managed service utlisiting an MPLS IP-VPN which supports the most suitable access technology (Ethernet, DSL, Wimax, leased line and so on) depending on location and size of site. The contract is one of our largest projects in the region. The network will grow as Carrefour does. Owners MAF Hypermarkets currently operates 27 outlets in seven ME countries, and plans to double the number by 2012.
The second big deal is with United Arab Shipping Company. UASC is owned by the six shareholding GCC states and has an extensive global network. The new Adaptive Network will link 10 sites in the Middle East to 28 UASC sites in North America and Europe, and the main corporate data centre in Singapore.
I am Head of Regional Marketing Communications and Operations in the Indirect, Middle East and Africa Region.
I am driving the digital transformation of the marketing function in this region. Among my favourite types of challenges are the ones that involve bringing people together to deliver a project, and I like the challenge of delivering “wow”. I have a passion for the new digital world, and I am often caught immersed in this when I should, in fact, be walking my dogs.
